Dreadhead Track & Field is ready to get the lil’ ones back on the track.  In response to the many questions I have received regarding what is my Covid-19 guidelines; I felt it necessary to explain the big picture of the process.  The big picture is making sure the runners are safe, making sure the meet & practice is kept within 60-75 minutes and making sure the runners are having fun.
  • Mask
    • Mask do not have to be worn by runners or parents as we are outdoors.
  • Social Distancing
    • It is expected that parents will socially distance themselves from each other.
    • There will be no arguments regarding this.  If you see someone too close to you, move.
  • Runners
    • Runners will be grouped by gender and grade in one heat of 8 or less.
    • When racing, runners will be spread apart from each other in every other lane, when possible.
      • When possible means; If we have 5 in a group we will not have 3 runners in one heat and another 2 in another heat.
      • Instead, all 5 will race spaced out best we can.
  • Sitting and Waiting
    • Cones will be laid out for runners & parents to sit/stand behind and distanced from each other.
    • Runners are not allowed to touch or play with cones.
    • It is the responsibility of the parent to keep your child near the cone as the coach and assistant coach will be coaching.
  • Equipment
    • Ball throw & Javelin will not be wiped down between each participant.
      • This will take to longs
    • Instead, it is expected that parents sanitize their child’s hands before and after they use the equipment.
  • Coaches
    • To make this all work we will need 2 parents to help volunteer per heat.
    • It is imperative to understand, none of the above guidelines can be met if we do not have enough parents to help out.
  • Parents
    • We are around children I expect no arguments with each other regarding the guidelines.
  • My thoughts
    • This stinks for everyone.
    • Let’s do the best we can.
    • Let’s understand it is not about just your child.
    • Let’s get the kids back to being kids; huffing & puffing and having fun.
  • Directions
    • The Geneva School • 1775 Seminola Blvd, Casselberry, FL 32707
      • Take your first right after you drive on the campus. Give yourself an extra 10 minutes to park and walk to the track.
  • Waiver
  • Arrival
    • Arrive 20-30 minutes early to warm up, stretch and practice on your own.
    • Group warm up will start in the middle of the field 15 minutes prior to start.
  • Start of the meet
    • You will hear a series of whistles. We will need both parents and runners to follow the sound and line up off the track. Let me emphasize on the word ‘hustle’. Please make every effort for the runner and most importantly the parents to hustle as we will have important announcements. Coach will place you in groups by gender and grades.
  • Practice:  Wear appropriate running clothes to practice. No jeans, Khaki pants or skirts
  • Pick Up:  2nd Practice

  • All practices are held at The Geneva School • Casselberry.
  • Parents that attend 6 pm practices must stay for the duration of the practice. You are not allowed to leave for any reason. Impending weather may arise and we must get the runners into their parents’ car.
  • Misbehaving – If for any reason your runner misbehaves at practice or the meets they will be asked to sit out. We do not in any way tolerate bullying or unsportsmanlike conduct. The length of time will be at the discretion of the coach. If they continue to act up they will not be allowed to practice with the group. Misbehaving implies the following: bullying, disrespect, touching other children, inappropriate words, name-calling, unsportsmanlike conduct.

Each location has a designated head coach; who will need assistance in organizing the groups and coaching the runners. Please meet with the head coach 45 minutes prior to the 1st meet. Click here to sign up to volunteer and help out the coaches!

Dreadhead Track

I appreciate the fact that Dreadhead Sports allow other schools that are not close to participate. Track is my sons element and this team has taught him how to be humble and a good competitor. I love how they have javelin, long jump, running jump, hurdles and various races. Everything is very fair so everyone has a chance to win. The owner is a great leader and has instilled good values in the program. It is literally everything we were looking for. I just wish there were more seasons to join.

Selena, Outside School Area

Absolutely great experience. Wasn’t too sure what we were getting into but it better then imagined! Perfect for numerous reasons. Track in its self. Preparing for another sport or even just pure exercise and competition! Would recommend to anyone!
